Bedroom Furniture Care & Maintenance Guide

Proper care and regular maintenance help preserve the appearance, finish, and performance of your investment. Follow these guidelines to keep your furniture in peak condition.

1. Fabric Upholstery & Accent Chairs

Fabric-upholstered chairs and dining seating experience frequent touch and friction throughout the day.

Regular Dusting & Vacuuming: Dust, pet dander, and microscopic grit settle into textile weaves and can cause premature fiber abrasion. Vacuum upholstery bi-weekly using a soft brush attachment on low suction.
Immediate Spill Response: Blot liquids instantly using a clean, dry, lint-free white microfiber cloth or paper towel. Do not rub or scrub, as friction can drive stains deeper into the fabric backing or cushion padding and damage the weave.
Spot Cleaning: For stubborn marks, use a gentle water-based upholstery cleaner or mild detergent diluted in warm distilled water. Always test the solution first on an inconspicuous area (such as the underside of the seat) to ensure colorfastness. Allow the fabric to air dry completely away from direct heat.
Sunlight & Heat Protection: Avoid positioning upholstered seating in direct, prolonged sunlight or adjacent to radiators and space heaters, which can weaken fibers and cause fabric fading.

2. Leather & Faux Leather (PU) Seating

Leather and vegan leather surfaces offer sleek style and straightforward upkeep when treated properly.

Routine Cleaning: Wipe down smooth surfaces weekly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and body oils. For deeper cleaning, use a lightly dampened cloth with mild soapy water, wiping completely dry immediately afterward.
Conditioning: For genuine leather components, apply a reputable leather conditioner every 6 to 12 months to prevent drying, cracking, and stiffness.
Avoid Solvents & Harsh Chemicals: Never use alcohol-based sanitizers, acetone, ammonia, bleach, or scouring pads on leather or PU surfaces, as they will strip the protective topcoat and cause peeling.
Prevent Scratches: Keep sharp objects, metal studs on clothing, and pet claws away from leather surfaces to avoid surface tears and scratches.

3. Ergonomic Mechanisms, Gas Lifts & Casters

For task and office chairs with moving mechanical parts, routine maintenance ensures smooth, squeak-free operation.

Hardware Tightening: The repeated motion of reclining, swiveling, and height adjustment can gradually loosen bolts. Inspect and securely hand-tighten armrest bolts, base screws, and tilt-mechanism fasteners every 3 to 6 months.
Caster Wheel Care: Hair, lint, and floor debris accumulate around wheel axles over time, causing casters to drag or scratch floors. Turn the chair upside down every few months to remove tangled hair and wipe wheels clean with a damp cloth.
Pneumatic Cylinder Care: Keep the center gas-lift cylinder clean and free of dust. Do not apply heavy industrial grease or solvents directly to the cylinder shaft.
Weight Capacities: Always adhere to recommended weight limits for each chair model to prevent mechanical failure and avoid voiding product coverage.

4. Wooden & Metal Frames / Bed Foundations

Our dining chair legs, accent chair bases, and bedroom bed frames rely on solid framework alignment.

Wood Care: Clean wood legs, headboards, and slat supports with a soft, slightly damp cloth, wiping along the grain, and dry immediately. Avoid silicone-based aerosol polishes, which can leave a hazy residue.
Metal Base & Leg Maintenance: Powder-coated and chrome steel bases should be wiped down with a microfiber cloth. Check leveling glides and protective floor pads under legs periodically to protect hard surface floors from scratches.
Bed Frame Hardware Check: Temperature variations and nightly shifts can loosen bed assembly fasteners. Tighten all bracket screws, center-support leg connections, and slat anchors every 4 to 6 months to ensure squeak-free stability.

5. Moving & Handling Instructions

Lift Completely: Always lift chairs and bed frames when moving them across a room. Never drag or pull seating by the armrests, backrest, or headboard, as dragging places extreme leverage on leg joints and can warp or snap mounting plates.
Disassembly for Transport: When moving locations or navigating tight doorways, detach chair bases or disassemble bed frame rails to prevent unnecessary structural strain.
